Join us for our Annual Potluck Supper. This is a popular social event for our chapter, combining good food, good friends, sharing of native garden photos and ideas as well as learning from our featured speakers.
Please bring a dish to share and your own re-usable place setting. (No throw-away plastic, please!) We are an environmental advocacy and education group; our goal is to create as little waste as possible. We will even compost the table scraps!
Our after dinner presentation will be “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” presented by Jack Shouba.
How would you recognize a high quality natural area or evaluate a restoration?
What could you do to improve a natural area?
Which plants should you remove? What should you plant?
Jack Shouba will give examples of native (GOOD), non-native (BAD) and highly invasive (UGLY) plants found in northern Illinois natural areas as he shows us how to evaluate and improve our landscapes.
