John Cebula led an insightful exploration into the world of milkweed. With at least two dozen species found locally, these native plants serve as vital hosts for Monarchs and numerous other insect species. He discussed the different types of milkweed, the incredible life they support, and their surprising historical significance during World War II.

Introduction to Wild Ones

Rich Whitney, President of the Wild Ones Greater DuPage Chapter, delved into the importance of native plants and their vital role in our ecosystems. He also shared the mission and history of both the national Wild Ones organization and the Greater DuPage Chapter, along with the many activities we offer.
He also discussed ways everyone can make a difference in helping to save the planet.
